William "Bill" Paxton (Fort Worth, Texas, 17 mei 1955) is een met een Golden Globe award genomineerde Amerikaanse acteur en filmregisseur. Hij is de zoon van John Lane Paxton (soms acteur) en Mary Lou Paxton. Paxton is getrouwd met Louise Newbury in 1985. Ze hebben twee kinderen, James (geboren in 1994) en Lydia (geboren 1997).
