Eli Wallach

Eli Wallach (Brooklyn (New York City), 7 december 1915) is een Amerikaanse filmacteur van Joodse komaf.

Het meest beroemd is Wallach geworden door zijn komische rol als de achterbakse, laffe en hebzuchtige bandiet Tuco the Ugly in Sergio Leones beroemde western The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Deze rol drukte een stempel op Wallachs verdere carrière want later werd hij in spaghettiwesterns nog vaak getypecast als Mexicaanse bandiet. Zo speelde hij ook in Ace High en The Magnificent Seven.

Een andere grote rol was als maffiabaas in The Godfather: Part III (1990). Ondanks zijn hoge leeftijd speelde hij in 2007 nog mee in de comedy Mama's Boy en in 2010 in The Ghost Writer en Wall Street: Money never Sleeps.
