Jay Waverly North (Hollywood Californië, 3 augustus 1951) is een Amerikaans acteur.[1][2][3][4][5] Het begin van een vruchtbare carrière als jeugdacteur op de leeftijd van zes,[5][6] North werd een begrip in de vroege jaren 1960 voor zijn rol als de goedbedoelende, maar ondeugende, Dennis Mitchell op de CBS situatie komedie Dennis the Menace, gebaseerd op de comic strip gecreëerd door Hank Ketcham.[7][8][9][10]
Als tiener, North doorgestroomd naar rollen in de MGM speelfilms, Zebra in the Kitchen[5][8][9] en Maya,[5][11] evenals starring in de NBC tv-serie aanpassing van de film, ook met de titel Maya.[3][5] Als volwassene, North wendde zich tot stemartiest werk voor geanimeerde tv-serie, uiten de rol van Prins Turhan in Arabian Knights en een tiener Bamm-Bamm Rubble op The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show.[5]
Na het verlaten van de showbusiness en de openbaarmaking van de waarheid van een moeilijke jeugd als kind acteur, North begon te werken met collega-ex-kindsterretje Paul Petersen en de organisatie, A Minor Consideration, met behulp van zijn eigen ervaringen als kind performer raad te geven andere kinderen werken binnen de entertainment industrie.[3][12]
