Merthyr Tydfil (Welsh: Merthyr Tudful) is een stad en county borough in het zuiden van Wales, met 55.530 inwoners (2006[1]). Merthyr Tydfil ligt in het historische graafschap Glamorgan en het behouden graafschap Mid Glamorgan.
