PRESS RELEASE

For immediate release

6 January 2010

New journey in 2010 for Angel Trains International as Alpha Trains On the 1st of January 2010 Angel Trains International has become Alpha Trains. Angel Trains International has been a pioneer of rolling stock leasing in Continental Europe for over ten years. In that time, it has initiated and continued to lead the market for the leasing of freight locomotives and of regional passenger trainsets. From its offices in Luxembourg, Antwerp, Cologne, Madrid and London, it manages a fleet worth almost €1.8 billion, operated in twelve countries by most of Europe’s largest public and private sector train operators. Angel Trains Group was sold by the Royal Bank of Scotland Group to a consortium of international infrastructure investors on 5 August 2008. Since that date, Angel Trains International is owned and managed entirely independently from Angel Trains UK, which continues to manage the British business. To complete the separation of the two entities, Angel Trains International has created a new name and a new identity designed to reflect its pre-eminent position in the European market. This name, Alpha Trains, is a confident expression of its vision – to be the natural leader. Alpha Trains continues to combine financial expertise with an in depth understanding of operational and engineering issues. This together with a policy of “acting locally” through an ability to work in the local language, culture and understanding the local culture, law and custom will continue to enable Alpha Trains to understand its customers’ and suppliers’ issues and respond fully to their needs. Haydn Abbott, CEO of Alpha Trains, said: “Alpha Trains will continue to operate at the heart of the European rail industry, building on the heritage of Angel Trains International and continuing to provide innovative leadership in the rail leasing sector. I am confident that Alpha Trains is the right platform to retain our market leadership, both in scale and professionalism.”
