Sorry I write in English. The dutch betaalcheque was internationalized and later became known as the postcheque across Europe and issued by many postal giro administrations. I think this article should be updated to reflect this.
Also it would be nice to have a summarized form of this article in the English Wikipedia either under the betaalcheque name or under postcheque. Does anyone feel brave enough to start it? I can update it later with the UK history.
I used to work in the UK post office and in the Bootle (near Liverpool) office the dutch encashed cards were known affectionately as Beatle Cards (a bowlderisation I presume of betaalkort which I assume must have been the original name). Foutieve naam/samenvoeging?[brontekst bewerken]
Volgens mij zijn hier twee produkten samengevoegd die dat niet behoren te zijn.
- De betaalcheque [1] werd in Nederland in 1967 ingevoerd door de niet-PCGD banken.
- Als reactie daarop introduceerde de PCGD de (giro)betaalkaart in 1969.
- De betaalcheque werd door de banken vervangen door de eurocheque (in 1969?).
