SPAM = Smac?[brontekst bewerken]

The article equates SPAM and Smac. Based on the ingredients and look, the products are quite similar, but the detailed nutritional information is different (Smac has about four times the amount of carbs, but only half the amount of sodium of SPAM), and the names are trademarks of two unrelated companies: while SPAM is a brand name of Hormel (also registered as a Benelux trademark), Smac is a purely Benelux brand name of Unilever (used since it was put on the market by Unox in 1952). So it is more correct to state that a very similar processed meat product is brought to the Benelux market by Unox/Unilever under the brand name Smac.  --LambiamTalk 23 dec 2010 10:21 (CET)[reageer]
