USA for Africa

USA for Africa (United Support of Artists for Africa) was een eenmalige muzikale samenwerking tussen bekende Amerikaanse popmuzikanten om geld in te zamelen tegen de honger in Afrika. Het nummer We Are The World stond in 1985 wekenlang op de eerste plaats over de gehele wereld. In de Nationale Hitparade stond het 9 weken op nummer 1, in de BRT Top 30 zes weken. In totaal bracht het ongeveer 90 miljoen dollar op. In 2010 werd het nummer opnieuw in het Engels en in het Spaans uitgebracht voor de aardbeving in Haïti. Onder andere Justin Bieber en Janet Jackson zongen deze keer mee. Ook Michael Jackson zong zijn stukken mee, maar, vanwege zijn dood, met de opnames uit 1985. De Spaanse versie van het nummer heet "Somos el Mundo".
