I am retired TV Producer from Finland [1]

I was born in Multia, in Central Finland. After my father's death in 1943 and my mother’s new marriage to Actor Leevi Kuuranne [2] our family moved first in 1946 to Turku, then in 1955 to Tampere, due to the work of Leevi Kuuranne and finally to Helsinki in 1960.

I have built my career within television productions, first as a Cameraman of Yleisradio, YLE – Finnish Broadcasting Company, then as Director, Journalist, Producer, Head of Light Entertainment Department of YLE TV1 and Managing Director of my own production company. I also trained young television generations in various professions in different institutes across the country. Because of the YLE TV1 I have been traveling around the world. I have made a lot of TV programs abroad, including in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Moldova, Indonesia, Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. I have also been a member of the EBU Light Entertainment Group. I have always been inspired by theatre and music. In the 1960’s I made a secondary career as a singer. I was a recording artist making audio records and toured around Finland. The Dancing Halls and Community Halls became familiar. I still sing and perform occasionally.

In 1998 a summer festival was set up in Multia, called Multiaista Satoa (Multia Harvest) [3] . I was a member of the Board, a Secretary and member of the Executive Committee for years. The cultural event continues to live up to date. Our family’s summer cottage is situated in Multia.
