The history of the Banjorockers The Banjorockers was created under decision of multiple gentlemen, reason being a lack of extracurricular conversation between the ones involved. On the 23th of December 2016, Julian Diederick Ooms set up a ‘group chat’ on the well-known social platform called ‘WhatsApp’. This is where and when the Banjorockers officially began.

The name of the community has been derived from an old musician group which was as well called the Banjorockers. One of these musicians appeared to be the famous Banjorocker Atilla Gündogdu, which was the reason for this naming choice.

‭Rules and policies As most community groups do, the Banjorockers have put together a couple of laws which go for every single Banjorocker member. Banjorockers will therefore be expected to obey these rules at any time.

Under certain circumstances, however, policies may be broken in order to better situations in the Banjorocker group, although this can only occur when at least 65% of te members have agreed upon the idea provided by another member.

The following Banjorocker Laws are the most important and these will also be the ones to which is paid most attention:

• The ‘spam’ of certain phrases or media like videos or photographs/illustrations can be considered a cause of disturbance and lead to a forced exit. • Disturbing media of for example abuse, pornography or that of other members is not tolerated in the Banjorockers and can as well be the cause of a temporarily ban from the group.

• The Banjorockers is not to be taken quite seriously and new members shall try to not be offended by phrases or media appearing in the group. Although this seems to oppose earlier policies, mildly odd content does not apply directly to these rules. Members can expect to be made fun of on average bases.

• No member of the Banjorockers is considered more powerful than others and the group does not have a leader. In order to prevent corruption, at least two Banjorockers who are said to be responsible have been clarified admins and take a minor amount of care over the community by temporarily banning members breaking earlier policies.

Tips and tricks In order to feel comfortable in the Banjorockers, you will need to know some ways of understanding content and the way we treat each other.

Most of the matter appearing in the group chat will be stated ‘spam’ by non-members. However, Banjorockers think differently about this. Taking in account that you have been chosen to be a member, you will be most likely to appreciate the content as well.

‘Memes’ are often posted in the group and no member should doubt to contribute in this.

An important tip is, as explained earlier, not to take statements seriously. The use of emojis may for instance often be sarcastic. The following is a sample of this sarcastic way of using the emoji: 😂😂😂🤣😂🤣👌🏼🤯🤩🤪🤪

In order to make clear that you do not appreciate certain spam or disturbing content, a member does not simply state this by using a proper phrase or sentence. Instead, Banjorockers tend to use the following term in order to report the misbehaviour of a person within the group: !votekick [name].

An example could be Sam Luijten sending the same stupid video an unwanted amount of times. In this case someone can possibly state: !votekick Sam
