All the reasons are missing that made the fans leave the club in droves. With the takeover by the mighty Red Bull Company not only the name was changed (which the fans were used to - although the calling name in the press etc. ALWAYS stayed "SV Austria Salzburg"), but also the club emblem, the team, the management and - most important of it all - the club coulours on the trikots. It was virtually a completely new club, it was related to the old club just in legal terms (for which fans do not care for). And while the big company wasn't willing to make any compromises (in order to maximize the return on their investment and strengthen the own Corporate Identity) most of the supporters left (including ALL major fan clubs) and founded the new Austria Salzburg as the moral successor of the old one. The club features the original colours and emblems (even some of the old personell came back) and is supported by the old fan clubs (the oldest ones dating back to the seventies). -- 85.127.232.125 5 jun 2008 03:17 (CEST)

Oprichtingsdatum

Nu komen er twee verschillende data voor: 1-6-1950 in het kader en 13-9-1933 in de tekst. Welke is de juiste? Paul-MD 5 jun 2008 12:12 (CEST)

In 1950 werd de club opgeheven en hetzelfde jaar op 1 juni opnieuw opgericht. 1 juni 1950 is dus feitelijk gezien de juiste oprichtingsdatum. Ik heb dit zojuist toegevoegd in het historie kopje. --Ultras GE 13 mei 2010 14:09 (CEST)
