Français : Les armoiries de Vernier ont été adoptées par le Conseil municipal le 20 janvier 1914, puis approuvées par le Conseil d’Etat le 27 février de la même année.
Herkomst
Français : Elles utilisent le vert, couleur du plus ancien drapeau local connu, et le rouge, couleur à la fois cantonale et fédérale. La fasce ondée symbolise le Rhône et la roue, les anciens moulins et les forces motrices du Rhône. Quant à la truite, elle rappelle la pêche qui a toujours été mise à l'honneur à Vernier.
