Hi! I’m Michael Beijer, a Dutch-English technical/patent translator & terminologist.

Info about me:

Note: I have been permanently blocked from editing on Wikipedia for trying to help create a page for the CAT tool ‘CafeTran’. I found it highly suspicious that a page could not be created for one of the market-leading translation tools (CAT tools), while pages were allowed for most other important CAT tools (memoQ, Trados, etc.). So I got worked up and ended up getting blocked.

The editors who tried to stop us from creating the CafeTran page were called ‘Sulfurboy’ and ‘MrOllie’. The whole things was completely crazy since CafeTran was/is one of the major CAT tools, and so many other CAT tools did have their own pages.

Someone recently managed to create a CafeTran page on the French Wikipedia (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cafetran_Espresso), which seems to have fared better than our attempts (i.e., it is still online).

One of the versions a colleague of mine (Wikipedia user ‘Leuce’) created for the English CafeTran page was actually VERY well researched and extremely thorough (he spent a lot of time on it), and yet it just kept getting deleted, over and over again. I managed to save a copy of all the hard work https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Leuce put into the CafeTran draft page at: https://cafetran.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/6000058373. This led many of us to feel our efforts were being thwarted for some unknown reason.

The reason I have two accounts is I mistakenly started off as ‘Michaelbeijer’ and later wanted to continue as ‘MichaelBeijer’.
