Er wordt onderstaand plaatje gebruikt:
Waarbij dan wordt uitgelegd dat "In het Noordoosten waren de suikerrietplantages, en hier zijn de meeste slaven naartoe gevoerd. De concentratie in het Noorden is omdat het vooral de arme, zwarte bevolking is die in het Amazonegebied hun geluk zoekt. De meeste Europeanen zijn naar de regio's Zuidoost en Zuid geëmigreerd."
Ik wil er wel op wijzen dat bevolkingsdichtheid iets anders is dan percentage. De bewering dat er meer zwarten in het noorden wonen dan in het zuiden wordt niet door dit plaatje gestaafd. De laatste bewering gaat namelijk over absolute aantallen, terwijl het plaatje over relatieve aantallen gaat. Het amazonegebied is bijzonder dunbevolkt. Taka 9 dec 2006 10:00 (CET)

Fake map[brontekst bewerken]
According to IBGE "Pardo is a broad classification that encompasses Brazilians of mixed race ancestry, mulattos, and assimilated indigenous people ("caboclos")."
Pardos are not only people of mixed African ancestry. The map in the article is a fake, because it says that Northern Brazil is over 70% Black, which is not correct.
I am Brazilian and I know that most "Pardos" of Northern Brazil are of mixed White and Indian (Native American) ancestry.
The person who posted this map is trying to claim Brazil is a Black country, which is not the truth. Brazil is mixed, and Whiter than Black, since Brazil received much more European immigrants than African slaves.
By the way, why should a half White half Black person be considered "Afro-Brazilian"? 201.62.202.111 23 feb 2008 23:09 (CET)
