Magyar: Brassó vármegye címere
Brassó vármegye címere hegyes talpú pajzs, amelynek mezejében nyitott, rubinnal, zafírral és igazgyönggyel díszített levélkorona lebeg. A címerpajzs mögött latin kereszt alakban elhelyezett szétnyíló sugarak láthatók. A korona Kronstadt, azaz Brassó város német nevével hozható összefüggésbe.
Brassó vármegye Brassó városával együtt a középkori Barcaság központja volt. II. András 1211-ben a Magyar Királyság déli és délkeleti határainak és a Törcsvári-, Tömösi-, Ósánci-, Bodzai-szorosok védelmére behívta a Szentföldön alakult Német Lovagrendet, amely a Barcaságban kapott adományokat és kiváltságokat. Privilégiumainak birtokában hamarosan hódító törekvéseket kezdett az ország déli határain túl élő kunokkal szemben.
A lovagrend hódításai kapcsán rövid ideig kun püspökség is működött a megtérített területeken, de hamarosan önálló államiságra törekedtek, és igyekeztek kivonni magukat a magyar király hatalma alól, ami II. András érdekeit sértette, így 1225-ben haderővel kényszerítette a lovagrendet a Magyar Királyság elhagyására. A Német Lovagrend ezután a Balti-tenger mellett alapított lovagrendi államot Marienburg központtal. A vármegye területét az 1876. évi XXXIII. törvénycikk határozta meg, miszerint az magában foglalta Brassó Vidékét Brassó városával együtt.

Official coat of arms and flags, being defined in such a regulation, are thus in the public domain in Hungary, and also in the US, according to § 313.6(C)(2) Compendium of U.S. Copyright Office Practices, 3rd ed. 2014 (Compendium (Third)): "As a matter of longstanding public policy, the U.S. Copyright Office will not register a government edict that has been issued by any state, local, or territorial government, including legislative enactments, judicial decisions, administrative rulings, public ordinances, or similar types of official legal materials. Likewise, the Office will not register a government edict issued by any foreign government or any translation prepared by a government employee acting within the course of his or her official duties."
