English: Supraphorura furcifera from Isle of Gigha, Scotland, United Kingdom
Original description on Flickr:
My first upload from Gigha, a very small island off Kintyre, Scotland. I've been having a holiday for the past few days in the glorious hot sunshine, and having a wee look for springtails on the way. This is a new one for me, although common... Due to a lack of other springies that fit the bill, I think it's S. furcifera because of the long PAO with a lot of vesicles (although it looks a slightly different shape than Roehampton's photo) and the vestigial furca which is pretty distinctive. As well as the anal spines. What do you think, Frans? I did take a specimen for Peter, just in case!
