The images show extremely hot matter (ash or unburned fuel) and the surface of the star (green). Some of the text in the Wiki page's current version of the image is illegible because the resolution was too low. I have obtained the original resolution image from the image source page on Flickr (the previous image was a lower resolution preview also available on the image's Flickr page).
This original resolution image is much higher quality and should improve the readability of the associated Wikipedia page.
