Sorry, but I don't know Dutch well, so I will speak English. The IOC results database has no mention of water polo at the 1904 games, so this event might be unofficial --VovanA 8 apr 2008 13:39 (CEST)

Thanks VovanA for your participation. It is indeed an unofficial event. I noticed your remark at the English wikipedia. On the dutch here, we already stated this event as unofficial. Also the medal tables are asjusted according to this (see: Medaillespiegel van de Olympische Zomerspelen 1904, Overall Summer Olympics medal table and Overall Olympic medal table).

In the dutch article the first lines say:

Waterpolo is één van de sporten die beoefend werden tijdens de Olympische Zomerspelen 1904 te St. Louis. Later werd dit toernooi door het IOC niet meer als Olympisch erkend en is het de boeken ingegaan als demonstratiesport. De gewonnen medailles worden dan ook niet meegeteld in medailleklassementen.

Dit toernooi wordt ook niet vermeld in de uitslagendatabase van het IOC, in tegenstelling tot het voetbaltoernooi van 1904 dat inmiddels wel als medaille onderdeel wordt gezien.

This can roughly be translated as:

Waterpolo is one of the sports of the Olympics 1904. Later, this tournament is not recognised anymore by the IOC and is stated as a demonstration sport. The gained medals therefore are excluded from the medal rankings.

This tournamenst is also not listed in the result database of the IOC ...
