Born Mechelen 17 april 1952

Marcel R. Roofthoofd is now for 15 years active as an independent consultant for the management and development of business process automation and advanced IT projects. (www.it-mcs.com) He follows very closely the document management, content management, workflow management and advanced web technology market in Belgium with a focus on the practical appliance within organizations. He was for more than 10 years President of BeLAIIM, now known as Document@Work. This organization offers suppliers and end-users a platform for the promotion and development of solutions, services and technologies in the aforementioned domains.

Previously he worked for 25 years in the IT sector, within others at Wang Benelux as Practice Manager, at MSA Software as Cash Management consultant and at Dupont de Nemours as responsible for the IT systems supporting the production environment.

Next to this IT related services he is active within the chess world, as a player (Fide and Belgian chess master) and as an organizer and/or advisor for chess events, the latest being the chess happening around the simultaneous exhibition of Kaparov in cooperation with CV Warehouse and Alfacam.
