Beschrijving

A mixed bag of miniatures of Dutch and Belgian decorations. They are:

  • A miniature of the Order of the Dutch Lion, reverse
  • A miniature of the Order of Orange-Nassau, reverse, (the gilden on the cross indicates that is must have belonged to an Officer, a Commander, Grand-Officer or Grand-Cross.
  • Two round "rozetten" of an Officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau
  • An unapproved combination of the rossette of the Belgian Order of the Crown and the ribbon of the Order of Orange Nassau. A combination like this is not encouraged by the Dutch protocol and the Chancellor of the Orders but many knights decided to wear them nonetheless.
  • A Miniature of the Order of the Crown (Belgium), reverse.
  • The elongated ribbin in blue, white and orange (it looks like a baton) is an old-fashioned insignia of a Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau. It is not an approved manner of wearing a ribbon but it used to be quite common.
The miniatures are worn with a mess jacket or black-tie. The rozettes are worn on the lapel of a suit. (Correction by 15:49, 22 November 2008 (UTC))
