Arthur Joseph Leopold Valkieser was born on 28 June 1954 in Deventer, the Netherlands as a son of two talented musical parents; his father being a professional violin player in several symphonic orchestras and his mother a soprano singer. As a 7 year old Valkieser started studying playing the piano. In 1970 he started to develop photography skills and soon started selling pictures to local news papers.

In 1973 Valkieser graduated at the University of Applied Photography in The Hague and was offered a job as assistant cameraman at CineCentrum, a leading film production company in Hilversum. In 1974 Valkieser joined the Film Department at the Dutch Navy for his military service and a year later he started studying at the Film Academy in Amsterdam. In the same year he also started to work as a freelance film camera- & soundman. A few years later the freelance work developed to such a vast scale that he decided to leave the Film Academy to work full time as an independent freelance film cameraman.

In 1973 Valkieser joined a rock band named Pangea and later Airplay. He played the piano, Hammond organ and his own built ETI4600 synthesizer. The band gave many concerts, made a record, performed for television and produced music for tv programs, commercials and tv branding.

At the beginning of the 1980s, video cameras became portable and Valkieser invested heavily in broadcast recording and editing equipment. In 1982 he founded his broadcast facility company and moved to Hilversum, the Dutch capital of television broadcast industry. He left the rock band, unable combining the concert schedule and his musical career with being a cameraman and building up his companies.

From 1983 onwards his company grew tremendously after adding more editing suites, sound studios and 3D computer graphics facilities and camera facilities. In 1988 his company was the first Dutch company to invest millions in the - at that time completely new - digital video and audio studio equipment. By then his company had more than 100 staff working full time plus a large group of freelance cameramen and soundmen. Graphic design and the production of 3D animations became an important part of the services Valkieser's companies offered and many TV stations and broadcasting organisations chose Valkieser’s company to create their - many times award winning - tv and program identities. In 1996 Valkieser also co-founded Unicam ENG facilities and Multicam multi camera facilities. In 2000 Unicam, Multicam and Valkieser Postproduction merged to form United Broadcast Facilities (UBF). UBF became the second largest broadcast facility company in the Netherlands. In 2001 Valkieser also acquired all Sonotech Broadcast Facilities shares, at that time the third largest broadcast facility company in the Netherlands. This resulted to United Broadcast Facilities becoming one of the market leaders in the Netherlands and one of the biggest independent broadcast facilities companies in Europe, employing 400 people. In 2001 the company also relocated to an under architecture newly built office at the Media Park in Hilversum bringing all Valkieser's broadcast companies together under one roof. Valkieser Capital Images remained in Amsterdam, serving the advertising and feature movie market with high end digital film and postproduction facilities.

In January 2002 Valkieser was awarded ‘Broadcast Personality of the Year 2001’ by Broadcast Magazine for his outstanding entrepreneurial achievement.

In December 2002 Valkieser was offered to sell his majority share in Valkieser Communications and United Broadcast Facilities and he decided it was a time for a new phase in his live. He kept a minority share in the company, stept down as CEO and became member of the non executive board. A few years later he also sold his remaining shares.

Between 2003 until 2009 Valkieser had interests in several companies, one of them being Ecoplay International b.v.. Ecoplay developed and produced residential water recycling products. In 2009 Valkieser moved residence to Switzerland. There he continued his flight training for FAA Commercial Pilot license which he earned in 2013.

In 2016 Valkieser decided the timing was right for the market introduction of a greywater treatment and recycling system. Worldwide water shortage is becoming a huge problem and an effective solution to help save drinking water is to recycle and reuse residential greywater. He changed residence back again to the Netherlands to establish his new company Hydraloop International b.v.. Valkieser acquired Ecoplay patents and assets and together with his team continued development of a new and unique technology to treat,  clean and disinfect greywater without using filters. After 2 years of testing, the new system called Hydraloop is introduced on the market during the Aquatech Trade Show 2017 in Amsterdam.

Valkieser still enjoys playing the piano, photography and flying but his mission now is to contribute and herewith help solve the world wide water shortage problem.
