Ada Martine Stolsmo Hegerberg, Molde, Noorwegen, 10 juli 1995 is een Noorse professionele voetbalster, die als aanvaller van club Olympique Lyonnais (vrouwenvoetbal) speelt in de Eerste Divisie Vrouwenvoetbal. Eerder speelde zij in belangrijke competities voor Kolbotn en Stabæk.

Hegerberg speelde als jeugdinternational voor Noorwegen en maakte haar debuut voor het seniorenteam in 2011. In 2013 maakte zij deel uit van het team dat zilver won tijdens het UEFA Europese Kampioenschap voor Vrouwem in 2013.

Hegerberg won in 2016 de UEFA "Beste Vrouwelijke Speler in Europa-prijs en werd in 2017 door de BBC uitgeroepen tot de beste Vrouwelijke Voetballer van het Jaar. In 2018 was zij de allereerste winnaar van de Ballon d'Or.

Club-carriere

Hegerber werd geboren in Molde, maar groeide op in Sunndalsø. alwaar ze speelde voor Sunndal Fotball samen met haar oudere zus Andrine. In 2007 verhuisde het ouderlijk gezin naar Kolbotn, waar de zussen later gingen spelen bij Kolbotn IL. Zij debuteerden bij Kolbotn in 2010. Op 6 augustus 2011 scoorde ze drie goals in zeven minuten, waardoor Røa werd verslagen met 4–1, waarbij Andrine het laatste doelpunt maakte. Omdat ze pas 16 was, werd ze hiermee de jongste speelster ooit, die een hattrick scoorde in de hoogste klasse. Ook als zestienjarige, eindigde ze in 2011 als Kolbotn's en ook als de Jonge Speelster van het Jaar van de liga. Voor het seizoen van 2012 sloten de zussen Hegerberg zich aan bij Stabæk. Tijdens een match tegen Fart in mei 2012, scoorde Ada vijf goals in de eerste helft van Stabæk's 8–2 overwinning. Op dat moment werden de zussen beschouwd als de twee grootste talenten in het Noorse vrouwenvoetbal en won Ada won de Statoil Talent van de Maand-onderscheid voor de tweede keer in mei 2012. Zij werd in 2012 topscorer in de hoogste klasse met 25 goals in 18 wedstrijden. Zij maakte oot twee doelpunten in de halve finale van de Noorse Vrouwenvoetbal Cup 2012, toen Grimstad met 3–0 werd verslagen. Tijdens Stabæk's 4–1 overwinning op Røa in de finale scoorde Hegerberg een hattrick.

In 2013 tekenden zij en haar zuster contracten met het Duitse team 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam t/m 30 juni 2014, waar ze teamgenoten werden van hun landgenote Maren Mjelde. In haar Bundesliga-debuut ...... toen SC Freiburg met 3–1 werd verslagen. In hun eerste seizoen in Duitsland, eindigden de Hegerbergs en Turbine als tweede in zowel de Bondsliga 2012–13 en DFB-Beker voor het seizoen.

In the summer of 2014, she transferred to Olympique Lyonnais.[18] Hegerberg had a very successful first season in France. She scored 26 goals in 22 league games, leading Lyon to a ninth consecutive Division 1 Féminine title. In the Coupe de France Féminine Final, Hegerberg scored the tying goal in the 47th minute, eventually culminating in a 2–1 victory over Montpellier. 3–1.

Hegerberg returned to Lyon for the 2015–16 campaign. On 27 September, she scored a hat-trick in Lyon's 5–0 victory against rival PSG. Hegerberg became the first player to score a hat-trick against PSG since Julie Morel in October 2008. In November, Hegerberg reached an agreement on a contract extension to stay with the club through the 2019 season. Lyon retained the league title for the tenth time in a row on 8 May 2016. Hegerberg finishing the season as the top scorer of the league with 33 goals in 21 appearances. One week later, Hegerberg secured the Coupe de France with Lyon. In UEFA Women's Champions League action, Lyon went on to the win the competition behind Hegerberg's 13 goals in 9 matches, to complete a treble.

On 3 December 2018, Hegerberg became the first ever winner of the women's Ballon d'Or. There was controversy during the ceremony, however, as the host, DJ Martin Solveig, asked Hegerberg upon receiving the award if she wanted to dance in celebration and "knew how to twerk". His comments were criticised as sexist in the media; he later apologised for his remark.[20]

Internationale carriere

She was also included in the squad for the final tournament, where Norway reached the final.[5] Hegerberg was included in the Norwegian squad for the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, there the team reached the quarter-final. She and Andrine scored the goals in a 2–1 win over Canada in the group stage.[22] She made her senior debut for Norway as a substitute in a 3–1 defeat to Northern Ireland in Lurgan on 19 November 2011.[9]

Hegerberg was selected in the Norwegian squad for the 2013 UEFA Women's Championship and made her championship debut in the opening match; a 1–1 draw with Iceland on 11 July 2013.[23] She scored her first goal in the tournament as Spain were defeated 3–1 in the quarter-final[24] and played the entire 90 minutes as Norway lost the final 0–1 to Germany.[25]

Hegerberg was a member of the Norwegian squad for the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup.[26] She scored three goals in three group stage games, highlighted by a two-goal performance in Norway's 3-1 win over Côte d'Ivoire.[27] Hegerberg was nominated for the Best Young Player Award for her efforts.[28]

In januari 2016 werd Hegerberg onderscheiden met de Noorse Gouden Bal, uitgereikt aan de Beste Voetbalster in Noorwegen in 2015. Ze was de eerste vrouw, die de onderscheiding in 20 jaar kreeg.
