Uit Wikipedia, de vrije encyclopedie

The Danish asylum model stands for the strict policy of the Danish government on asylum. The Danish asylum model is unique in the European Union.[1] Up to and including 2015, Denmark admitted relatively many asylum seekers.[2] In 2015, Denmark was still in the ninth place within the European Union in terms of the number of asylum seekers offered refuge. As a result of the stricter policy, which was introduced from 2015 onwards,[3] Denmark had fallen to the twentieth place in 2021.[4] At the peak of the refugee crisis in 2015, more than 21,000 people applied for asylum in Denmark. In the first 10 months of 2021, the number remained at 1,526 asylum applications.[1]
