Evaristo Junior Salas was born on December the 17th 1980 in Sunnyside, Washington.

At the age of 15, Junior was wrongfully charged, tried and convicted of first degree murder and sentence to 32 years in prison. He was sent to adult prison at the age of 16 and he is now 38 years old and has been in prison for nearly 24 years.

He has maintained his innocence and has continued to fight to prove his innocence through the sending of letters. In 2016, one of those letters happen to be found in the mail room of the media. That letter prompted Joe Berlinger who was developing a documentary for the Starz network for wrongfully convicted individuals. His team of professionals investigated Evaristo Junior Salas claims of innocence. Through his investigation, he was able to discover evidence that prove Evaristo Salas was in fact innocent. That investigation and the evidence that was discovered was revealed on the Starz network documentary called "Wrong Man" which aired on June 10th 2018.

Evaristo Junior Salas is currently being housed in the minimum security units at Airway Heights Corrections Center.

Although he currently remains in prison for a murder he didn't commit, he focuses on trying to educate the prison population on their potential to not only change themselves, but also changing the community they came from and stop violence and recidivism. Junior facilitates his own classes and programs while his fight for freedom and justice still continues.
