Ingolfiella canariensis is found in coarse sand and gravel of beaches on the Canary islands Tenerife and Hierro. It does not occur in inland groundwater of the islands but probably can be found in deeper seafloor sediment off the islands. Type specimens stored in Naturalis Biodiversity Center, Leiden, The Netherlands.
