This server fosters the development and continuing operation of software tools for the analysis and improvement of the free content of the Wikimedia projects. Interested people can receive access to the databases of them, continually updated, as well as ample resources with which to process this data.

Hardware

Supporting this initiative are two servers, which were kindly donated by Sun Microsystems. The database server Zedler is a Sun Fire V40z with 2x 2.2GHz Opteron CPUs, 8GB RAM and 6 146GB SCSI disks. Hemlock, the server containing the user data, is a Sun Fire x4100 with 2 2.8GHz Opteron CPUs, 8GB RAM and 2 70GB SAS disks.

Software

Zedler is running and contains the which provides realtime copies of the Wikimedia databases.

Hemlock is running a system. It has a daemon running, where users can put the source codes of their projects.
