Please note the description: "Een detective reist samen met een uitvinder en een soldaat naar Mars. Hier ontmoeten ze Aelita, de koningin van Mars." is wrong, is it? The movie shows a futuristic society compared to soviet-socialism, developed in a phantastic daydream of an engineer. The detective is a figur in background. A soldaat plays the charakter of lenin on mars and starts a revolution as its leader. Aelita is the beautiful wife of the dictator Tuskub. She is not "ontmoeten", but a courious girl and alternating leader in revolution, betrayer and victim of thunder in the engeneers phantasy. The movie itself started the science-fiction filmproduction and was most important to this genre. Alot of younger produktions based on its ideas, among them Metropolis, some star-trek motives and alot of other stuff.
