Duitsland of West-Duitsland

Op de pagina staat een voetnoot dat er een Duits team deelnam, en dus geen West-Duitsland of Oost-Duitsland: Alhoewel alle Duitse deelnemers uit West-Duitsland kwamen, nam volgens het IOC in 1952 Duitsland deel en niet West-Duitsland; pas in 1968 zal er een team uit West-Duitsland deelnemen. Uit welke bron blijkt dit ?

Als ik op de IOC site kijk: http://www.olympic.org/uk/games/past/innovations_uk.asp?OLGT=1&OLGY=1952 lees ik daar:

THE TWO GERMANYS: Germany came back under the aegis of a new National Olympic Committee (NOC), that of the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG). East German had also created a new NOC but did not send any athletes.

Hieruit trek ik de conclusie dat het Nationaal Olympisch Commité van West Duitsland vertegenwoordigd was.

IOC en Duitsland

No athlete may take part in the Olympic Games unless he is certified by a national federation affiliated to an international federation and by a National Olympic Committee both recognized by the I. O. C. In Western Germany, the National Olympic Committee is recognized by the I. O. C. and also the national sport federations are recognized by their respective international federations. Since this is not the case in East Germany and since there can only be one Olympic Committee in each nation, the only way East German athletes can participate in the 1952 Olympic Games is by having their entries certified by the recognized German federations and the recognized German Olympic Committee.

As a result of the decision taken by the I. O C. in Paris, by which a provisional recognition was granted to the Olympic Committee of the Peoples Democratic Republic of Germany (East) on the understanding that only one German team be participating in the Melbourne Games of 1956, the two German Olympic Committees (East and West) met in conference near Friburg en Brisgau on the 27th and 28th of August 1955.

Van de Duitse Wikipedia, hierbij wordt gemeld dat de NOC van de DDR pas in 1968 volledig gelijkwaardig erkend is.
