Overleg Wikipedia:Woningnet en Wikipedia

I would like to inform Anthere of the Wikimedia foundation, the NL moderators as well as GerardM about a discussion that has taken place between Woningnet and two persons from WikipediaNL (myself and Bontenbal).

Woningnet is an organisation (100 people of with 25 IT related), owned by non-profit companies who rent cheap houses to especially low-budget families, students, etc. I think this is a typical Dutch phenomenon. Woningnet organises a fair system, partly internet-based, for interested people coming to the renting-market who will search and bid for a house. Woningnet is considering to present encyclopedic information about renting, living, interior decoration, areas of cities etc. to the persons who visit their website. They consider to use the infrastructure and vandalism control of Wikipedia. They consider to invite the people who visit their website to contribute to Wikipedia. At the first meeting on September 7, 2005, various possibilities have been discussed.

Woningnet is impressed by the Wikimedia software and the quality of Wikipedia NL.

I think that Wikipedia NL can profit from these intentions. We have told Woningnet about GFDL and that the information added to wikipedia should be "encyclopedical" in nature. They fully understand and agree. They are thinking about a two-layer structure: one within Wikipedia, the other on their own website, giving more specific and non-encyclopedic information. In addition, Woningnet might add content they already have available within their organization, or to answer "Frequently Asked Questions" .

Up to now the talks have centered only around possible sharing and addition of content.
