Cadac Group en Cadac Organice

Hallo EdBever,

Allereerst dankjewel voor je uitleg over Wikipedia! Ik wil graag nog even met je overleggen omdat het helemaal niet mijn bedoeling is geweest om de artikelen Cadac Group en Cadac Organice over te laten komen als een reclame-uiting! Ik ben als gebruiker van de producten van Autodesk en Cadac inderdaad wel enigszins betrokken bij het onderwerp, maar ik dacht eigenlijk dat je op Wikipedia een artikel mag schrijven over waar je interesse ligt. (Worden de artikelen daar niet beter van?). Ik wist niet dat je als beginner het beste eerst over door andere mensen vastgestelde onderwerpen kan schrijven!

Mijn hele insteek was eigenlijk om een pagina over cadac te schrijven met, om de pagina "compleet" te maken, drie aparte pagina's, inclusief verwijzingen naar elkaar voor de zelf ontwikkelde producten van cadac (Organice, NXTdim en DeModus). Hoe kan ik dit objectiever maken? Kan ik de tekst nu nog aanpassen? Of is het beter geen pagina's voor de producten te maken?

Wat betreft de encyclopedische relevantie; ik denk dat er meer mensen zijn die het met me eens zijn dat dit bedrijf toch wat noemenswaardige prestaties heeft geleverd, incl. het achterliggende geschiedenis-verhaal. Uit krantenartikelen en de website heb ik begrepen dat ze bv. nooit om een financiering bij de bank gevraagd hebben en dit bedrijf dus volledig zelfstandig hebben opgericht. Is het dan beter om dit soort feitjes toe te voegen aan de pagina?

Aan cadac hangt ook het ongewone levensverhaal van Jan Baggen. Het lijkt mij wel bijzonder om als 40 jarige, helemaal zelfstandig een mijoenenbedrijf opgebouwd te hebben en drie zelfontwikkelde producten op de markt te hebben gebracht. Het lijkt me geen ook eendagsvlieg als het 23 jaar bestaat en het hele omliggende bedrijventerrein heeft laten bouwen waar het gevestigd is. Ik zie het encyclopedische verschil dan bijvoorbeeld niet tussen Autodesk/Revit en Cadac/Organice? Of moet het artikel meer gericht zijn op Jan Baggen?

Ik zou je graag willen vragen je mening te herzien. Natuurlijk begrijp ik dat het nu overkomt als reclame, vooral omdat je zegt dat daar veel sprake van is op wikipedia. Ik bij deze graag ook advies vragen over hoe ik de stukken eventueel kan aanpassen. Zijn er bv maatstaven om mijn objectiviteit mee te controleren? :)

Alvast bedankt en ik zal zeker nog eens kijken of er bij 'Gewenste Artikelen' een interessant onderwerp staat waar ik een pagina voor kan maken!

Beste Roxanne,

Natuurlijk mag je op wikipedia schrijven over dingen die je interesseren. We hebben echter wel een stramien waaraan artikelen moeten voldoen. Als eerste de richtlijn voor relevantie, we kunnen en willen niet alles beschrijven. Ten tweede neutraliteit in artikelen. Een encyclopedie hoort neutraal te zijn en alle aspecten te beschrijven (dus niet alleen de positieve of juist de negatieve). Daar hebben we marketingmensen en politici voor.

Of een bedrijf relevant is voor deze encyclopedie wordt bepaald door de gemeenschap. Je kunt deelnemen aan de discussie op Wikipedia:Te verwijderen pagina's/Toegevoegd 20090605 en daar jouw argumenten aandragen. Ik ben van mening dat jouw bovenstaande argumenten het bedrijf niet heel bijzonder maken. Ja, meneer Baggen heeft het kennelijk niet slecht gedaan en dus een goede ondernemer, maar daar zijn er meer van. Het verschil met Autodesk is dat Autodesk genoteerd staat aan de NASDAQ, zo lang Cadac geen beursnotatie heeft moet het wel heel bijzonder zijn om in deze encyclopedie thuis te horen.

Jouw artikelen kunnen objectiever door marketingtermen weg te laten. Neem een paar zinsneden uit het inmiddels verwijderde artikel Cadac Organice: "wereldwijd actief via een netwerk van professionele partners; op basis van ruim 20 jaar bedrijfservaring; succesvol toegepast bij". Deze drie stukjes tekst kun je vervangen door "wereldwijd actief, het bedrijf is opgericht in 1986, producten zijn toegepast bij...". Zoals je ziet horen termen als "professionele partners" en "succesvol" niet thuis in een encyclopedie. Wat voor Cadac succesvol is kan voor Dura Vermeer wel een miskoop gebleken zijn, het is immers maar net wat je onder succes verstaat.

Ik hoop dat wikipedia jou bevalt, alle begin is moeilijk, en dat je ook andere artikelen wilt bijdragen. EdBever 5 jun 2009 16:04 (CEST)

Jammer dat je de link naar www.wilmans.com/sofinummer hebt weggehaald. Het wordt veel gebruikt voor testers van applicaties waarbij en sofinummer moet worden ingevuld. Ik vind deze link overigens net zo relevant als de tweede link. Mocht je je bedenken zet de link gerust terug.

Ik vind het flauw om dit weer terug te zetten dus dat doe ik niet.

Beste Menno, Wikipedia is geen verzameling van links, daar hebben we sites voor die er veel beter in zijn. Jouw link was niet relevant in het artikel Sofinummer want het voegt niets toe, behalve een manier om een getal te genereren op basis van de elfproef die voor het Sofinummer gebruikt wordt. Ik zie het nut wel in van jouw generator, al kan het ook voor minder goede (lees illegale) doeleinden gebruikt worden. Zie ook WP:EXLINK voor ons beleid op het gebied van externe links. Beste EdBever, Als je de regels van WP:EXLINK erop naslaat dan zou de tweede link er ook niet thuis horen. Maar ook de tweede link vind ik handig alhoewel daar hetzelfde verhaal staat als op de wiki. In dat kader vond ik mijn link ook handig.

Hi there,

I have no idea why the link to greenfinger.at (http://www.greenfinger.at/Schoenmalven_en.html) on the Abutilon espanol webpage has been removed. My website is non commercial and not a forum an deals with Abutilon cultivation info. So why have I been set on the blacklist? Any comments would be appreciated. Why is it so dificult to get in contacts with an editor?

Hi, your link is not on the blacklist, but the links have been removed on 8 articles. The same user placed the link on 5 pages within 30 minutes, before that . That looks like spam. The link greenfinger.at/brugmansien-info.html does not even work, so it is definitely not relevant (at least at the moment when it was deleted). I think your link is related to the articles it was placed in, but wikipedia uses a very restrictive linking policy. I hope you find that getting in contact with me was easy enough, although I am active on 127 different wikipediaprojects (languages). If you have any questions feel free to ask them here. Hi EdBever, Thanks for answering - but its sometime very hard here to get in contact with one of the editors. Sorry for the broken link to Brugmansia - its a linux based server - the link was Brugmansien-Info.html and reflects the new nomenclatur and culture on Brugmansias. The nomenclature on the Wikipage is in parts changeworthy - the changes have been recently done. Brugmansias are not only used for drugs - but after reading this article you might come to this conclusion. So my question is - is it possible to add it again? the link is http://www.greenfinger.at/Brugmansien-Info.html

re: Abutilons - what is needed to add it as Link. When I read the policy you linked me and compare it with e.g. the Fuchsia or Aloe ferox article here on Wiki, then I feel to different things are practiced. So what must be done to fulfill your policy to be added or to get the link restored on the german and the english wikipage. kind regards, greeny55

First of all, any changes in nomenclature should be discussed, either on a talkpage or on another more central location. It can be very disruptive -as you mention- that someone decides to change important bits. The inclusion of the link is a question you can best ask at the article's talkpage. If you look at the links normally to be avoided, under 1 you see "Any site that does not provide a unique resource beyond what the article would contain if it became a Featured article". Your site looks very good and usefull, but eventually the info should be in the article. The only reason to link could be the pictures that you have. I am by the way talking about the policies on en: wikipedia, perhaps de:wikipedia uses other criteria. You mention other articles where link have been placed that do not comply with the external linking policy. You should compare it with cars that drive through a red light. Some will be caught (and get a ticket) and others not. The same applies here. We try to limit the number of external links but it is impossible to patrol every page. Several automated systems are active to find excessive external links, your site showed up on the spambot and that is why action was taken. EdBever 10 jun 2009 09:32 (CEST)

Hi EdBever, Re: Discussing nomenclature of Brugmansias on Wiki - well ABADS is the ICRA/ISHS for this plant group and they don't discuss with amateurs about this things (even not with you or me). They are the registering authority and not a democratic talking round. So if Wiki wants to be accurate on its webpages in the future, then it has to accept some rules. I don't want to do this changes on the site as in the past additions have been removed or modified to nonsense information by others. By the way a statement to recent nomenclature changes has been published semi officialy in September 1999 in The New Plantsmen by Julian M. Shaw / University of Nottingham.

RE: Featured article - well if Abutilon becomes a feature article - yes interesting from the point of view of a plant freak and author. If I look at the fuchsia page and some others where a lot of opinions have been mixed up - well its a featured article - but with lots of misleading inaccurate information. So that's why I want to keep the info on my webpage. I agree with you - photos are today essential parts of websites and information itself. If this could be a connecting point it is welcome. So please let me know if the policies change.

Request for evaluating the delisting from the blackspam list

I also read in spam blacklist description that the delisting of the website from the spam blacklist will not be accepted if requested by the owner of the same but I would be pleased if you allow me to explain in few words this E-book project and why was probably wrongly thought that the content was appropriate for Wikipedia...

www.smirkve.com/istria/ is probably the first E-book about Istria... it contains about 600 description pages of over 90 towns and villages, 1800 pictures photo gallery with the descriptions in 3 languages, it also contains information music and gastronomy... the word that can most properly summarize in short... architecture, history, music, cuisine, olive oil, wine and cultural events... is probably the word: Culture.

For sure you visited the site www.smirkve.com/istria/ and also other towns that were linked to specific towns described in the book and evaluated that all this content was not appropriate for Wikipedia external link section.

I was thinking to write one day a page about Smirkva Bowl on Wikipedia but for being listed on the spam blacklist this will not be possible. www.smirkve.com is also the site that host the Smirkva Bowl... www.smirkve.com/smirkva-bowl/...

Smirkva Bowl is a tournament organized in Smirkve since 1996 and is recognized as one of the most important under 10 tennis tournaments in the World. In its history the tournament gathered players from 40 countries and almost all World continents. Smirkva Bowl is considered a bit "more than tennis" thus I thought that it might deserve in few years time a page on Wikipedia.

I used Wikipedia several times for my reasearch but till very recently I did not know how it was structured and how it was functioning.

I would be very pleased Mr Bever if after this e-mail you could propose the delisting of the above mentioned website from the spam blacklist and consider if it would be appropriate to keep the linke at list on Istria Wikipedia page because of Wikipedia user that I still beleive can find many relevant information in this E-book.

Your site was not blacklisted because of inappropriate content. It was blacklisted since it had been spammed at least 93 times on wikipedia. see m:User:COIBot/XWiki/smrikve.com for the information about the placement of these links. I had not seen this level of linkspamming until now. The links were placed by probably one person, seeing the IP addresses involved. The links were placed between april 26 and a few days ago. I assume you placed these links, and you probably did not know about wikipedia's external linking policies. You can request delisting at m:Talk:Spam blacklist but I feel that a site that has been spammed almost 100 times should not be delisted right away. EdBever 11 jun 2009 23:03 (CEST)

Thank you for your prompt answer. I did not find the way how to reply on your answer in the same section of my first question thus I am writing to you a separate answer.

I would be pleased to give you few more thoughts behind my missunderstanding and in hope that this could help to reconsider your position and help to take out the site from the spam list.

I placed most of these links and I did not know about Wikipedia's external linking policies and I have not noted that putting the linked was spam activity. I was thinking that the content was of interest and I saw that most people from Wikipedia that were reading the content of the pages were staying on average on the pages for more than 5 minutes.

Since 26th of April I received only few times a warning saying that I might be linking too much content but it was few times not 93 as you indicated from the statistics... and in the warning it was said something like if you are not spammer we are sorry, etc... I was not familiar with the fact that linking the content although from the same site was considered spamming.

I have linked about 50 towns and villages in English version because the book is written in English (and I described 91 towns and villages but in Wikipedia only 50 were present in the English version).

There is also an important photo gallery of 1800 pictures, as I wrote you in my previous e-mail, thus I linked later only the most beautiful and representative towns and villages in Croatian, Italian, Serbian and Russian language pages because the pictures are described in 3 languages.

I was thinking that for people that use Italian and Croatian, and also Russians that do read English would be of interest to see the galleries.

Each picture shows the name of the family that owned in the past a Palace or Castle, the names of the Churches, etc. thus can see the period when a particular building was built because all this information can be found in the photo gallery.

Reading your e-mail I see that each my link was considered as spam. I am not Wikipedia expert and even the people that did programming of my site were not aware of this thus their advise was when I told them that I was thinking that the content of the book was suitable for Wikipedia their advise was that given the fact this e-book is so big to add only few items and to see what happens. They also told me that anyone can cancel the content for most different reasons but I did not understand what they were saying till I did not put few links and saw the history of few Wikipedia pages... In end very few links were cancelled and most of the links stayed.

I put 2 years of study and 4000 working hours to write this E-book and now when you tell me that 93 spam activity was reported I understand that each placed link was reported as spam.

I will follow your advise and request the delisting although your opinion is that the site should remain on the blacklist.

I am not sure if I was able to explain that my intention was not to spam but to add value to each section. I was not familiar with the policy and if I knew that spam activity is evaluated independently of the content I would have not placed any link.

I understand that if your opinion is negative to de-list the site from the spam blacklist it is very likely that it will not be de-listed.

I have no further interest to place any link from my site to Wikipedia and I have read that the owner or person related with the owner can not request the delisting of the site from the spam list thus I would be pleased if you could reconsider the worth of de-listing this website after this e-mail and help me to do it if you accept my explanations.

Your site looks good and is informative. I hope you will contribute some of your knowledge on wikipedia. One of the main policies of wikipedia is "Assume good faith". I am willing to believe that you acted in good faith. I have delisted your site. However, it will show up on our spambot-report the moment you place it again. Verwijderen pagina De Oude Buis

Vandaag had ik een pagina toegevoegd over De Oude Buis. De tekst voor deze pagina is inderdaad afkomstig van de website www.histos.nl. Ik ben echter lid bij deze vereniging en vorig jaar bestuur geweest. Mijn vraag is dan ook waarom de pagina is verwijderd en of deze kan worden terug geplaatst met een referentie oid?

Geachte anonieme gebruiker, Ik heb op jouw overlegpagina een uitleg gegeven over de verwijdering. In principe is het niet zonder meer mogelijk om tekst zomaar over te nemen in verband met de auteursrechten. Alle tekst op wikipedia is compleet rechtenvrij, een bronvermelding is daarom niet voldoende. De auteur of rechthebbende moet alle tekst vrijgegeven hebben. EdBever 12 jun 2009 16:25 (CEST)

Ik weet wel het een en ander van brand, maar ik vraag me af of zo iets wenselijk is. Ik heb ooit een waarschuwing op brandblusser geplaatst maar die is weer verdwenen.
