Sogyal Rinpoche (Kham (Tibet), 1948) is een Tibetaans geestelijke uit de nyingmatraditie van het Tibetaans boeddhisme en spiritueel meditatieleraar in het westen. Hij werd erkend als de reïncarnatie van de tertön Sogyal Lerab Lingpa (1856-1926), een leraar van de dertiende dalai lama.

Een van zijn grootste verdiensten is zijn boek: "Tibetaans boek van Leven en Sterven"[1] waarin het Tibetaans dodenboek uitlegt als methode om stervensbegeleiding aan te bieden aan zowel de stervende als aan de naasten.

In 1993 speelde hij een kleine rol als Tibetaanse Lama die de reincarnatie onderzoekt van een kleine jongen in Little Buddha.
