Waar is zij eigenlijk geboren? In de intro staat: Novo mesto en onder kopje beginjaren: Sevnica. Ik ben niet zo bekend in Slovenië, ben alleen in de Grotten van Postojna geweest, maar misschien kan iemand hier opheldering over geven en, indien nodig, aanpassen? Oorspronkelijk stond er consequent Sevnica, later heeft iemand dit veranderd in Novo Mesto, maar alleen in de infobox. Daardoor is het een rommeltje geworden. Een soortgelijke discussie heeft gespeeld op de Sloveense WP. Daar concludeert men dat het Novo Mesto moet zijn. De New Yorker schrijft: "She was born in Novo Mesto, in what was then Yugoslavia, in 1970, and raised in a Communist apartment block in Sevnica, a pretty riverside town where a smuggled Coke was a major treat."[1] Volgens onze Sloveense collega's het ook logisch dat vrouwen uit Sevnica in Novo Mesto bevallen, aangezien Sevnica een klein plaatsje is dat geen ziekenhuis heeft. Sevnica als geboorteplaats schijnt uit IMDb afkomstig te zijn, nou niet bepaald de meest betrouwbare bron. Groeten,  IJzeren Jan 11 jan 2017 02:46 (CET)

Als IMDB onbetrouwbaar is moeten een flink aantal artikelen over acteurs (v/m) en films beoordeeld worden op waarheidsgehalte. Tja, wij volgen doorgaans de bronnen en gaan niet zelf op zoek naar de waarheid. Daarom ben ik er voorstander van om de geboorteplaats te wijzigen in Novo mesto en daar als bron The New Yorker bij op te geven. Mocht dit later niet blijken te kloppen, kunnen we het simpelweg weer aanpassen. Maar twee geboorteplaatsen in één artikel is verwarrend. Trijnstel (overleg) 14 jan 2017 19:42 (CET)

Wiki Speaks Your Language

Hello all and sorry for writing this message in English. It is my pleasure to inform you about the launch of the Wiki Speaks Your Language initiative with the goal of enriching the Wikimedia projects with freely licenced audio (and video) files documenting spoken examples of every language, language variety and dialect in the world.

The idea originates from the curiosity of many readers viewing language articles not only to read about the language but also to hear how does it sound. In most of the cases, our language articles lack such files and readers usually end up searching videos on YouTube, notwithstanding that we have the capacity as a movement and the resources to meet their wish.

The initiative lists three possible ways of acquiring the freely licenced audio (and video) files: 1) by adapting existing audio and video files on Wikimedia Commons (mostly from the Spoken Wikipedia projects), 2) by liberating existing audio and video files from the repositories of GLAM and educational institutions, and 3) by engaging Wikimedia communities, GLAM and educational institutions in the recording of new audio and video files.

In the first phase of the initiative, the easiest way to start is by working with the resources we already have and therefore my proposal and kind request to the Dutch Wikipedia community is to get involved in adapting existing videos from the Gesproken Wikipedia. There are some useful tips on what the existing files should be adapted to. The adapted files should be categorised under "Category:Wiki Speaks Dutch" and added to the list of languages.

Hey @Kiril Simeonovski:, glad to see you again. I'm not sure what exactly you're asking though. There are quite a few audio files available with Dutch audio that seem to match your description. Ik denk dat hij/zij bedoelt dat we kunnen helpen bij het eerste dat hier staat. Dus de bestanden in c:Category:Spoken Wikipedia - Dutch die aan dit voldoen, mogen in een onderliggende cat van c:Category:Wiki Speaks Your Language geplaatst worden zoals bij de Macedonische. Aan de cats van de Macedonische bestanden te zien, gaat dit project bestaan naast Gesproken Wikipedia en vervangt het het niet.Mvg, TheDragonhunter | Vragen? 13 jan 2017 15:26 (CET)

Dear @Effeietsanders, TheDragonhunter, KlaasZ4usV: Thanks for your interest about the initiative. The idea of the adaptation in the initial phase means to check if there are audio files from the Spoken Wikipedia project that cover non-specialist topic without prevalence of foreign words and are no longer than 3 minutes. Since the category Spoken Wikipedia - Dutch on Wikimedia Commons has more than 3,000 files, I suppose it would be easy to find such files that meet these requirements and which can represent spoken Dutch in a decent manner (just categorise the eligible files under "Category:Wiki Speaks Dutch" and tag with the WSYL template). For example, this, this, this and this all seem to match the length, but unfortunately I am not able to ascertain whether the topic is fine for providing spoken example of the language and that is why I think native speakers of the language could help. I think even a single representative file that can be used to represent spoken Dutch in its article across Wikipedias will work (however, you seem to have much more than it). Thank you.
