Northumberland (Nederlands, verouderd: Noord-Humberland) is sinds 1 april 2009 een unitary authority en een district in de Engelse regio North East England en het is een ceremonieel graafschap; het telt 319.030 inwoners. De oppervlakte bedraagt 5.014 km². Hoofdplaats is Morpeth.
Demografie
[bewerken | brontekst bewerken]Van de bevolking is 17,6% ouder dan 65 jaar. De werkloosheid bedraagt 3,8% van de beroepsbevolking (cijfers volkstelling 2001).
Het aantal inwoners steeg van ongeveer 305.500 in 1991 naar 307.190 in 2001.
