Overbrengen van discussie gevoerd op Nicola484

Beste Nicola484, Voor uw eerste activiteit op Wikipedia gaat u het artikel over de Europese stichting te lijf. Dit nochtans niet zo uitgebreide artikel, dat best informatief is, wordt door u nog drastisch ingekort. Het zou integendeel nog toevoegingen verdienen en misschien kunt u dit doen zonder het werk van voorgangers te vernietigen. Tenzij u daar een gegronde reden zou voor hebben, maar die is alvast niet duidelijk en zou u wellicht best eens met de andere geïnteresseerden in dit artikel bespreken. Daarom heb ik de tekst teruggebracht naar zijn toestand bij de laatste tussenkomst van gebruiker Ericvb. Mag ik u tevens aanmoedigen om u in te schrijven als gebruiker, want u bent dat nog niet en ik weet niet eens of dit bericht u wel zal bereiken. met vriendelijke groeten, Andries Van den Abeele (overleg) 16 dec 2011 13:18 (CET)[reageer]

I have to write in English to you, sorry for that. I work for the stichting and the changes to the text have been requested by the board of the Europese stichting board. Can you possibly change the text back as we updated the text in the english and german versions of wikipedia and now this version is incorrect. How does this work, do I need to re-load it again? Dear Nicola Mullenger, You will have first to inform your board that the texts on Wikipedia are free to be changed by all users and are by no means the property from a person, an institution or an organization. Secondly, there is no reason or necessity that the texts should be the same in the different languages. You and your board must take into account that we are with several users to have the opinion that what was mentioned on the Dutch lemma in question and removed by you, is interesting information and should remain, if possible even be extended, but certainly not reduced. If you would reduce it again, you must be aware that these users will replace the text and so an 'edit war' would start. The only solution is then to go to one of the discussion forums (De Kroeg e.g.) and open a discussion by giving the reasons why you are of the opinion that you have to reduce the text and remove some of the given informations. A majority will then decide. The users are in general sensible people and if your reasons are valid they will accept them. But you must obviously come with better reasons than the board requested it, which is a counter-productive argument. I wish you excelllent Christmas holidays. Dear Nicola, I don't quite understand why you changed Europese Culturele Stichting into European Cultural Foundation when on the German Wikipedia it's still called Europäische Kulturstiftung. The foundation is registered as Europese Culturele Stichting (ECS), so it seems to me the Dutch name is official and doesn't necessarily have to be changed.
If some of the information in the article is outdated or incorrect, then that will obviously have to be adjusted, but what you did was a bit too drastic. --ErikvanB (overleg) 17 dec 2011 05:06 (CET)[reageer]
