(Waarbij 1 inspringing hier steeds orde-niveau is.) Gullan tekent hierbij aan dat de meest recente research lijkt te wijzen op een monofyletische groep pthiraptera, die echter uit de psocoptera zou zijn ontstaan, waarmee de laatste groep parafyletisch wordt. (p. 192).
