Hoi ed17,

- Hi, I don't know Dutch (have plans to learn it, just haven't followed through with them yet) but I used Google Translate. :-) I removed it because I'm assuming that the Koninklijke Marine wouldn't have used an English word in their official designation. The ed17 (overleg) 20 mei 2011 00:17 (CEST)
- English is no problem. The word 'project' may be English in origin, but is used very frequently in Dutch and is considered an accepted word. My current job is at IRS, and the word is used daily. Thinking of it, I'm not sure ith was already that way in the thirties of the previous century. Teun Spaans 20 mei 2011 08:36 (CEST)
- Oh, that's interesting, I had no idea the word was used in both languages – I just assumed it was unique to English. "Project" may be the proper name in Dutch, actually... Noot, who was a lieutenant in the Koninklijke Marine, usually refers to it as "Project 1047," but most of the other English sources used "Design." You'd have to check a Dutch-language source to be sure, though. P.S. the full article is apparently online now, see [1]. The ed17 (overleg) 21 mei 2011 04:24 (CEST)
