Biografie[bewerken]
Craig werd geboren als zoon van een staalwerker en een lerares kunst. Hij groeide op in Liverpool, waar hij op rugby zat, en verhuisde naar Londen toen hij 16 was om bij het National Youth Theatre te gaan. Later verzekerde hij zich van een plaats op de Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Craigs filmcarrière begon met The Power of One in 1992.
In 2005 volgde Craig Pierce Brosnan op als de vertolker van James Bond. Hij heeft voor vijf films getekend. De eerste daarvan, Casino Royale, verscheen in november 2006. Zijn tweede Bondfilm, getiteld Quantum of Solace verscheen twee jaar later, in november 2008. De derde, Skyfall ging in Nederland eind oktober 2012 in première.
Craig was getrouwd met de Britse actrice Fiona Loudon, met wie hij een kind kreeg, genaamd Ella (geboren 1992). Het paar scheidde later weer. Ook had Craig een relatie met de 11 jaar jongere filmproducer Satsuki Mitchell. In juni 2011 trouwde hij met de actrice Rachel Weisz.
Craig woont afwisselend in New York City en Londen.

- Enkele fans van de Bondfilms en -boeken zouden Casino Royale boycotten, omdat Daniel Craig niet geschikt zou zijn, omdat hij een lange, zwartharige charmante spion moet spelen, terwijl hij klein en blond is. Na het uitbrengen van de film vonden veel critici dat hij een van de beste Bondacteurs aller tijden is.
- Bond verblijft in het Hotel Splendide (in Montenegro). 'Hotel Splendide' is ook een film uit 2000 waar Craig in meedeed.
