Ik vind het onjuist te stellen dat de toegang zonder meer gratis is. Veelvuldig moet met iets bijbetalen. Ik vind het onjuist om dat een toeslag te noemen, zoals Mueseumkaart dat noemt. Een toeslag op gratis is een gereduceerde toegansgprijs. Om die reden heb ik de wijziging op mijn tekst teruggedraaid. Salix2 18 mei 2010 01:30 (CEST)[reageer]

the registration process has changed. in 2015 i got the membership card right away at the counter of any participating museum. but this year (in 2016) i just got a preliminary ID and was requested to register online to have the card sent to my postal address. however, the registration form only accepts a postal address in the netherlands. so how do i register with a residential address outside the netherlands?

It takes about 5 days to register at the Museumkaart. Maybe you can order a card while at home, have it sent to the hotel/B&B/vacation home you will stay at during your vacation, and you can still use it. (na bwc) Hello, according to this link, you can ONLY purchase a Museumkaart if you are a resident of the Netherlands, however you could buy an Amsterdam Museum Card, which, as far as I know, can be purchased by foreigners. I hope this helps. Yours sincerely,

If I understand it well, you can purchase a Museumkaart at most participating museums, and then use it during 31 days. After the 31 days you must have the definitive one that can be send to Duch addresses only. So, only if you need it longer than 31 days, there is a problem. Contacting them with the contact form is only possible when you have a card number, so contacting them ahead of a purchase is made impossible. Quite tourist-unfriendly. Amsterdam Museum Card seems to be the English name of the Museumkaart. It is confusing, but perhaps the term Netherlands Museum Card is avoided in order not to scare away people who only stay in Amsterdam. - Patrick (overleg) 8 sep 2016 11:44 (CEST)[reageer]

Amsterdam Museum Card is for Amsterdam only. You can only visit museums in Amsterdam with it and, if I'm correct, will get discount at the touring busses and boats. Dqfn13 (overleg) 8 sep 2016 11:48 (CEST)[reageer]
