Participation in local votes

Dear Jianhui67,

Although you're eligible to vote here, because of your script-assisted work on Commons and Meta-Wiki, I personally think it's very inappropriate of you to participate in a local vote. You should know better, being a fellow member of the Small Wiki Monitoring Team. As cross-wiki contributors, we both have high edit counts on many projects, but we're not necessarily involved in the local communities and we can't thoroughly understand what's going on locally, even if we often communicate with members of the local community. I think your Dutch friends should've informed you better. It wouldn't make sense for me to vote on the Tagalog, Portuguese or Malay Wikipedia, even though I have hundreds of edits there. They're local matters that should be left to the local communities. I don't want to participate in those votes, because that would impact the self-governance of those projects and, in a way, that's just disrespectful.
