Gebruikers-popup

De muis op een gebruikersnaam geeft in de popup (achteraan) een cryptische vermelding x weken/uren oud. Bij Gebruiker:Ad Huikeshoven, hier direct boven, vreemd genoeg niet. Waar slaat dit op en is deze non-informatie wel nuttig? Dat geldt trouwens ook voor die andere getallen ervoor; wat betekenen die dan? Wickey (overleg) 2 sep 2021 14:04 (CEST)

Ik krijg ineens zo'n vermoeden dat het om de gebruikerspagina gaat. Lijkt me overwegend erg onnuttige info die onduidelijk is gepresenteerd. Wickey (overleg) 2 sep 2021 14:19 (CEST)

Ik zie nu dat het in de hoofdruimte standaard bij alle artikelen staat. Blijft de vraag, waarom niet bij Gebruiker:Ad Huikeshoven en Gebruiker:DutchTina. Wickey (overleg) 2 sep 2021 14:28 (CEST)

Omdat o.a. @Ad Huikeshoven en ik een globale gebruikerspagina hebben. Wij hebben geen lokale gebruikerspagina waardoor er logischerwijs ook niet kan worden getoond hoe lang geleden deze aangemaakt is. Tina (overleg) 2 sep 2021 15:06 (CEST)

Waarschijnlijk omdat automatisch van je globale pagina wordt uitgegaan. Zie je die dan ook bij Tina?

De onduidelijk is tweeledig: gegevens over de gebruiker zijn gecombineerd met gegevens over de pagina en er wordt gesuggereerd dat hier de leeftijd van de pagina wordt vermeld, als je überhaupt de link met de pagina begrijpt (wat dus niet evident is). Wickey (overleg) 2 sep 2021 16:50 (CEST)

Zo te zien betekent de vermelding x weken/uren oud hoe lang het geleden is dat er voor het laatst een edit is gepleegd op de pagina. Beetje verwarrende term. Mijn gebruikerspagina is beslist ouder dan 3 dagen en 21 uur. Behoorlijk veel ouder. Beter zou zijn: Laatste edit is x weken/uren oud. Weet iemand waar dat moet worden gemeld? Ik heb het nagekeken en het slaat (inderdaad) op de datum en tijd waarop de gebruikerspagina voor het laatst bewerkt is. Ik begrijp niet waar dit nuttig voor is eigenlijk. Tina (overleg) 2 sep 2021 23:16 (CEST)

Board elections are over - thank you all for voting!

Dear all,

Voting closed August 31 at 23:59. The official data, including the four most voted candidates, will be announced as soon as the Elections Committee completes their review of the ballots. The official announcement of the new trustees appointed will happen later, once the selected candidates have been confirmed by the Board.

Diversity was an important goal with these elections. Messages about the Board election were translated into 61 languages. This outreach worked well. There were 70 communities with eligible voters voting in this election for the first time. 6,946 community members from 216 wiki projects have voted. This makes 10.2% global participation, 1.1% higher than in the last Board elections. In 2017, 5167 people from 202 wiki projects cast their vote. A full analysis is planned to be published in a few days when the confirmed results are announced. In the meantime, you can check the data produced during the election.

How did the elections go for the Dutch Wikipedia? Well, the turnout 2021 is at 9.4% - in 2017 it was only 6.3%. This clearly is a tremedous raise, almost at the global average of 10.2%.

A community the size of the Dutch Wikipedia is a major player in the board elections, being one of the very few communities worldwide with thousands of eligible voters. It is good to see, that the Dutch community again raised it's voice after the hesitant results of 2017. For many communities besides the two or three biggest it often is about the weight of their votes. These elections gave a clear answer on that question - it's all about mobilization. Some communities reached huge turnouts and by this means made their voice heard louder than ever. Among the few communities of similar sizes the Polish Wikipedia set a mark: a turnout of 23% of their 1251 eligible voters (NL: 1005) gave this community a weight of 4.5% of all voters - similar to the Italian community, 2115 eligible voters, who by a turnout of 15.3% created a weight of 5% of all actual voters for their community. A record was set by the Catalan Wikipedia: counting only 344 eligible voters it's turnout of 37% made their voice weighing as much as those of the Portuguese or Chinese communities in the end. This stunning result points out, that a community has a lot of power if it just makes some use of it.
