Dit artikel beschrijft de prestaties van voetbalclub Aston Villa FC seizoen 1996/1997 . Dit seizoen werd de club vierde in de Premier League doordat Middlesbrough drie strafpunten kreeg nadat ze niet speelden tegen Blackburn Rovers en te laat melding deden.[1] [2] Andy Townsend bij de club. Townsend verhuisde daarna naar het gedegradeerde Middlesbrough. Sterspeler Dwight Yorke scoorde zeventien keer in de competitie, Savo Milošević maakte tien doelpunten.
