Hartelijk dank voor je belangstelling voor Wikipedia! We werken hier aan het ideaal van een vrij beschikbare, vrij bewerkbare, volledige en neutrale gemeenschapsencyclopedie. We waarderen het enorm als ook jij hieraan wilt bijdragen!

De Nederlandstalige Wikipedia is sinds 19 juni 2001 online en telt inmiddels 2.157.033 artikelen. In de loop van de jaren zijn er voor het schrijven of bewerken van artikelen en voor de onderlinge samenwerking een aantal uitgangspunten en richtlijnen geformuleerd. Neem die als nieuwkomer ter harte. Lees ook eerst even de informatie in dit venster voordat je aan de slag gaat. Geen van de richtlijnen heeft kracht van wet, want Wikipedia is en blijft vóór alles vrij bewerkbaar, maar een beetje houvast voordat je in het diepe springt kan nooit kwaad.

Deze pagina, die nu op je scherm staat, is trouwens je persoonlijke overlegpagina, de plaats waar je berichten van andere Wikipedianen ontvangt en ze kunt beantwoorden. Iedere gebruiker heeft zo'n pagina. Wil je een nieuw overleg met iemand anders beginnen, dan kan dat dus op zijn of haar overlegpagina. Sluit je bijdragen op overlegpagina's altijd af met vier tildes, dus zo: ~~~~. Een druk op de handtekeningknop (zie afbeelding) heeft hetzelfde effect: je bericht wordt automatisch ondertekend met je gebruikersnaam en de datum en tijd waarop je je boodschap voltooide. Versturen doe je met de knop "Wijzigingen publiceren".

Hello WorldTraveller101 (nl-talk | nl-contribs | nl-blocks | CA | cross-wiki), seeing your userpage, which was imported from another project and was of no use on the Dutch language version of Wikipedia, and your talk page here, it's clear that you do not speak the Dutch language a little, as you claim, you don't understand most of it. Now it is of course fine for you to have a user page here and make contributions where you can do so fruitfully. But this is the Dutch Wikipedia and we expect contributors to be able to discuss their contributions in Dutch if they are done in Dutch texts (it's OK if you correct an occasional scientific name; we'll be glad to discuss that in English then, of course and if necessary).

One of the things you'd better not do is create templates or do other things that affect the way this project works. This is an advise given to all newcommers but certainly to those who do not fully understand our language. Today you embarked on the creation of a plethora of templates we don not only simply not need but which we also very strongly reject. Your work has been undone and I expect you not to start on it again.

I see you have been blocked for a three month period on the English Wikipedia for using multiple accounts, disruptive editing, personal attacks and harassment. If that's your true nature, and you'd continue that behaviour here, it's clear you won't last long.

I'm curious on the other hand what brought you here. Are you a student, trying to learn the language? Is there a special business you'd like to do on multiple language versions? I'm sorry. I speak some Dutch. I have Dutch origins, but was not taught to speak it, and I'm trying to learn it for future life plans. If you think this will cause issues, then I will not contribute here. I thought that maybe some users do that thing around here, but apparently not. I do not hope or intend for disruption, so I will quit editing here for the better of this encyclopedia.

The three month block has been disputed off-wiki, but I decided to take a break and will try to appeal it. The abusing multiple accounts is a bad block, as I never truly did. It was more complicated than that. But to mention, I'm in reform and have improved much since the blocks. And I've improved more then you think. But once again, if you have those concerns, then I will not contribute to this encyclopedia, especially if it is for the best. Best wishes. Thanks for understanding. Yes indeed, I saw some trouble waiting to happen. For one thing, a lot of computer translations of English pages (Wikipedia and other websites) are entered into our project, causing lots of work for Dutch editors (to clean them up if they are usefull, or to have them removed and take care they are not enterd a second time, if they are just useless). Your contibutions would have fitted into that pattern and would have caused a lot of concern you probably would not have met if you were the only one with troubles expressing yourself easily in Dutch.
