Academy Award voor Beste Film

De Academy Award voor Beste Film (ook bekend als de Oscar voor Beste Film) is een jaarlijkse filmprijs van de Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Het is één van de belangrijkste Academy Awards, voor de beste speelfilm van het voorgaande jaar. Welke films daarvoor in aanmerking komen wordt bepaald door mensen die werkzaam zijn in de filmindustrie. Uiteindelijk worden vijf titels bekendgemaakt, die zijn genomineerd voor de prijs. Tijdens de jaarlijkse uitreiking wordt bekendgemaakt welke van deze vijf titels de prijs wint. De Academy Award voor Beste Film wordt over het algemeen uitgereikt aan de producent van de film. Eerst heette de prijs Best Production, Beste Productie, maar vanaf 1931 heet de prijs Best Picture, Beste Film.
