(Francis) Peyton Rous (Baltymore, 5 oktober 1879 – New York City, 16 februari 1970) was een Amerikaans patholoog en Nobelprijswinnaar. In 1966 won hij de Nobelprijs voor de Fysiologie of Geneeskunde voor ontdekking van virussen die tumoren veroorzaken. Hij deelde de prijs met Charles Huggins, die de prijs voor een ander onderzoek kreeg.
Rous had gestudeerd aan de Johns Hopkins University, alwaar hij zijn Bachelor en Doctor of Medicine haalde. Hij was betrokken bij het onderzoek naar verschillende virussen en bepaalde soorten kanker.
